Testex Replica Tape
for Precision Metrology

Ideal for Transferring Surface Geometries to the Laboratory

  • For use with precision optical instruments including electron and interferometric microscopes
  • Used in a range of scientific and industrial applications to obtain permanent surface replicas
  • Metallization increases the replica's reflectivity
  • Ideal for measuring on costly, complex, and delicate instruments as it brings the surface to the measuring device

Metallized Testex Press-O-Film Replica Tape Grades

Used for applications in which replicas are analyzed using precision metrology laboratory techniques.

Metallized Testex Press-O-Film replica tape can be used in a range of scientific and industrial applications to obtain simple, accurate, and permanent surface replicas easily studied with precision optical instruments including electron and interferometric microscopes. Metallization increases the replica’s reflectivity with a thin flashing of indium. Not suitable for use with dial type micrometer thickness gages.

Each roll of Testex Tape includes 50 pieces (impressions).

In the flexographic printing industry metallized replica tape is used with interferometric optical profilers to check the wear on printing rolls. It is preferable to measure a replica, rather than the original, because of the cost, complexity, and delicacy of these instruments. Replica tape makes it possible to bring the surface to the measuring device.
